About Nettie Hartnett/Ben Day Elementary School
Grades 1-5 in one center; early childhood center at Ben Day, including other district wide programs such as Parents As Teachers, English as a Second Language and Tiny-K. In the 2004-2005 School year adopted a comprehensive school reform program called Direct Instruction. Students and staff are also participating in a school-wide vitamin study.

Pre-School for students ages 3-4, Parents as Teachers, English as a Second Language, and the Virtual School are located in the Ben-Day building; Students in grades Kindergarten – 5th grade are located in the Nettie-Hartnett building.

Activities
Family Involvement activities including Reading Night, Math Night, Movie Night and Game Night scheduled throughout the year; 5th grade DARE program, Field Day, and Jr. ROTC. In addition each grade level participates in one field trip aligned to the district curriculum.

Nettie Hartnett classes begin at 8:15 a.m. and end at 3:15 p.m.
