Computer Technology at LHS
Students at Leavenworth High School have access to an increasing
number of computers, software, and other technologies. The library has 18
computers for student use, each English and mathematics classroom has at least
three computers available for student use, and almost all classrooms have at
least one computer. Five computer labs are used for computer technology and reading
remediation courses. One computer lab (room 160) is open from 6:30 to 7:30 in the morning prior to the start
of school and another (room 159) is open from the time school ends until 4:00
p.m. for
students who need to work on assignments for school. In addition, the library
is open from 6:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Students
are able to access the card catalog and the a number
of subscription research sites from any computer on the high school's computer
network. To use these sites from home, students can pick up passwords from the
school librarian.
In addition, LHS students are
eligible for a Kansas state library card which enables
