Withdrawing from Leavenworth High School

To withdraw from Leavenworth High School you must:
  1. Have a parent / guardian notify the guidance office as soon as you are aware that you are leaving the area. Forty-eight hours minimum notice is preferred. A student cannot withdraw without parent confirmation.
  2. The morning of the last day you attend, bring all of your books and other school materials, including your ID badge, to the guidance office. Mrs. Wilt will have paperwork for the student to fill out and the parent / guardian to sign.
  3. You will then need to go to each teacher to turn in your books and be cleared. You must seek out all of your teachers for signatures whether you owe them a book or not.
  4. You must also clear with the library (whether you’ve ever been to the library or not).
  5. Once you’ve obtained the required signatures, visit with the bookkeeper to settle any outstanding debts or arrange for any refunds owed you.
  6. The final step is to see Mrs. Wilt again who will finish the process with you. From start to finish the entire process takes approximately one hour.
If you are moving to another area, we will make sure that you have the records you need to enroll at another school with as little delay as possible. If you are planning to go to Job Corps or pursue your GED, then you must have a parent on hand to sign a disclaimer to release you from high school.
