Continental breakfast is served daily. Students, parents and staff are encouraged to enjoy the broad menu of traditional items or purchase items from the snack counter.
LHS students can choose from a traditional hot lunch with a choice of three main dishes; as well as the daily taco bar, pizza, or salad bar. Money put on account is available for purchase of the traditional menu (breakfast or lunch) only. Students may also purchase additional portions of the traditional menu or choose from the snack bar on a cash basis. The lunch period is “closed”; students must stay on campus during this time. Students can eat in the cafeteria or in the outdoor patio, weather permitting. Healthful beverages are available from the vending machine in the cafeteria.

Meal Ticket Guidelines
- An application for free/reduced meals is available to all students/families.
Applications are available in the school office or from the Cafeteria Manager.
Please note that application for meal support must be made each school year.
- Students are requested to deposit money on account before the start of the school day.
The flow of the lunch line is much quicker for everyone if money is deposited before
lunch. If a student has a change in meal status during the school year, any negative
balance must be paid in full. Meals may not be charged.
- During the year, the Child Nutrition Department randomly verifies income of families
qualifying for free or reduced meals. Failure to respond to the verification request
results in return to full pay status.
- Student meal privileges are revoked if a student is identified as selling or loaning
his/her badge to another student to obtain a meal; as allowed by the Kansas State
Board of Education Nutrition Services. To protect the meal rights of students, no
exchanging or giving away of food to another student or adult is permitted.
- Students will be asked to go to the end of the “serving line” if they do not have their
badges available to scan.
- Any money left on account from the previous school year will be available at the start
of the new school year. Students who elect to deposit money on account may do so in
any denomination. Students may also pay cash daily.
